It's always risky to back the league's worst road team but I think today is a good spot to do it. The Twins are looking to avoid the sweep today and they catch a Tampa team that hasn't seemed interested in finishing their series this year, going just 3-10 in game 3s. The Twins send Blackburn to the hill and he has only gotten stronger lately. He has also thrived in his daytime starts posting an ERA that is a full 2.20 runs better than at night. Blackburn has given up 4 or fewer runs in 9 of 10 starts so far including 2 or fewer in half of those starts. Meanwhile, the Rays send Garza to the mound and although he appears to be Mr. Consistent this year the reality is he has really struggled during his daytime starts posting an ERA that more than 1.2 runs higher in those starts. Garza has also thrown a lot of pitches to-date and I think this is really going to catch up to him in a hurry, perhaps even today! I realize the Twins may shock most, if not all, of you as my MLB Bailout Game of the Week but I just call it the way I see it and today I just feel it all sets up perfect for us today!
