ALERT: DICK JAURON IS ON THE HOT SEAT!

This will be Dick Jauron’s fourth preseason as head coach of the Bills. In the Bills' first preseason game Jauron has had them ready to play covering all three of his Week 1 preseason games. This continues a trend that has seen the Bills go a perfect 6-0 against the spread in Week 1 of the preseason over the past six years. This is developing into a very strong preseason trend. History supports playing on Coaches whose jobs are on the line as they like to come out strong and try and remove some of that pressure from media and fans. I see today being no different and we have a ton of angles supporting the selection:

· Bills are 8-2 ATS L10 preseason road games as a DOG winning 5 of them SU

· Bills are 9-0 ATS as a L9 preseason games overall as a DOG

· Teams who finished the previous season with exactly 13 wins are a horrible 3-12 ATS L15 preseason games as a FAVE

· Teams who finished the previous season with exactly 7 wins are an incredible 14-2-1 ATS L17 preseason games as a DOG

Motivation is a huge contributing factor in preseason and with Bills owner Ralph Wilson and former player Bruce Smith getting inducted into the Hall of Fame last night it is only reasonable to think the Bills would like to cap off the memorable weekend with a win. Keep in mind, however, these two teams do meet in the regular season so don’t expect a whole lot of game planning from either side – a very vanilla plan with a focus on ground games and fundamentals. This usually translates to a fast moving game clock and very few scoring opportunities, thus making the UNDER the play. In summary, despite the Titans having the better QB rotation we do have a coach on the hot seat who has a history of taking game 1 seriously, has a stated goal of winning, and is the more motivated team – a great formula for a win!
